Have Your Dog Featured On Our Site!

One of my favorite things about the internet is the fact that there is an endless amount of cute animal pictures. Sometimes, I will just scroll down my Facebook timeline and look at all the dog pictures. There are seriously so many hilarious and cute ones!

I’m pretty much guilty of doing the same thing on Twitter and other Social Media sites as well, but it kind of brings me a little bit of joy in my otherwise busy days to see the ocasional photo of a dog meme or a dog dressed in some silly outfit.

Since I know that almost all of my readers have dogs that are all super adorable, I thought it would be fun to feature one special pooch every week on our blog. Because let’s face it, I’m not the only one who enjoys seeing adorable dogs, and now you can have a chance to have your dog’s adorableness featured on our blog and our social media sites! Which means like major bragging rights at the dog park for your dog. ;)

Look, you can even have a cute little button to add to your blog when your dog has been featured!

Sounds fun right? Well, it’s also super easy to have your dog featured on our site as well.

All you have to do  is send us a picture of your pooch with a little information about your pooch that we can include in the post! Please send all photos to ralphlabrecque@ymail.com with the subject line “Posh Pooch Of the Week”. We only ask that you put that in the subject line, so none of your emails end up in our spam folder or anything of the sorts and so we find them.

Thanks so much and we look forward to seeing and featuring all your adorable dogs! :)

Interview With BePawsitive

BePawsitiveLogo-1024x307

As you all know, I was able to go to BlogPaws and while I was there I got to meet up with some pretty ah-mazing companies. One in particular really stood out to me though, it was BePawsitive.

BePawsitive is pretty much like Toms, but for dogs. Whenever you buy a bag of their treats, a bag goes to an animal shelter. Pretty cool right? I was going to go on and on and on about just how awesome BePawsitive is when I came home from BlogPaws, but I thought it would be pretty fun to interview BePawsitive so you guys good learn more about the company straight from them!

 - As I said before, I was lucky enough to be able to meet you all at BlogPaws, but for readers who may not know about Be Pawsitive, could you tell us a little bit about your company?

Be Pawsitive is a monthly subscription box of dog treats. Our treats are all natural, USDA certified organic, made in the USA, and we have 8 unique flavors that dogs absolutely love. We also run our business on a Buy One, Give One platform, meaning each treat box you receive provides a treat box we give to help dogs in animal shelters and rescue organizations around the country. We want to provide the highest quality oven baked dog biscuits for your dog and help dogs waiting for new homes at the same time.

-I have said this so many times to so many people, but I seriously love Be Pawsitive so much. I honestly think it is an ah-mazing way to help dogs in shelters, and I just love everything about it. So I have to ask, how did the whole idea for Be Pawsitive start?

Last year I adopted my dog Lola and got to see for the fist time the animal shelters process and could tell that they could use some help. Almost all shelters rely on donations and volunteers to maintain their business so I decided to come up with a way for people to help. The One for One business model was the perfect solution. Allowing people to buy something for their dog that would also provide something for dogs in animal shelters. We found that the treats can really help increase the adoption rates. They provide a great ice breaker between a person looking to adopt and the dogs. Some dogs are a little shy but seem to open up to new people holding a treat! They are also used for obedience training to help get the dogs ready for new homes. So basically I have Lola to thank.

-My personal favorite thing about Be Pawsitive is the fact that not only are the treats that you are getting are going to shelter, but it’s also a monthly subscription service. So every month our dogs will get a new flavor treat delivered, right?

Thats right, each month will be a new flavor. Right now we have 8 different flavors and are working to create more. Dogs really love our treats and with flavors like Pizza Party, Banana Split, and Pumpkin Pie even some humans have been known to try them (the pumpkin pie one is good). You can check out our full list of treat flavors here. We are also partnering with some great companies that have other cool dog products to be able to add some extra goodies to our monthly treat box. This months treat box will come with a $25 gift card to rover.com. Right now we have plans to have at least one extra goodie in all of our treat boxes to make it even more exciting when you receive a box each month.

-I know as a dog owner that I am super picky about what I feed Ralph. So for other dog owners that may be just like me, could you tell us a little bit about the treats themselves?

The treats are all natural and certified organic by the USDA. The USDA certification is a big deal, you won’t find very many treats that are actually certified organic. They might say organic but we are USDA certified. We have carefully picked our ingredients from sources within North America, with the exception of our extra virgin olive oil (Spain or Italy) and our bananas (Central America). Our ingredients are simple and wholesome so even dogs with sensitive stomachs like them. We baked them in smaller batched to insure quality control and maintain the high standards our customers expect of us. Also all of our treats are WHEAT FREE except our original flavor that has organic whole wheat flour. Our fist box (if you sign up in june) will be our Original Flavor but after that every treat box shipped out will be wheat free.

- What shelters are Be Pawsitive currently working with now? And is it possible for others to recommend other shelters to you all?

We are based in Dallas,Tx so right now we have a few local shelters like Operation Kindness and Austin Pets Alive (Austin,Tx) that we are donating treats to. We want to expand our donation network and I really think that will happen quickly and organically through our customers. If you work for a shelter or rescue organization you can email me directly at travis@bepawsitive.com to get on our list of recipients, but we have also added a field on the checkout page that allows customers to recommend a shelter or rescue organization for us to donate to.

- I know Be Pawsitive has just started, but is there anything that you all are looking forward to doing with Be Pawsitive? Or something that you all have been able to do that has been something that you all really enjoyed doing?

I am looking forward to building a interactive community of members. Beyond our amazing dog treats, people love the idea of helping out and Be Pawsitive provides a way to do that. I am hopeful that in the future, the people that are involved with Be Pawsitive will be able to come together to do great things for animal shelters.

-We always have to ask every person we interview about their pets. Could you tell us a little bit about your dog, Lola? Is she your official taste tester for Be Pawsitive?

Lola is the CTO (chief treat officer) and yes she taste test all our treats and seems to love her job. She is probably spoiled now and has even been know to turn down other treat brands of lower quality. She has had quite the journey from abandoned shelter dog to CTO of Be Pawsitive.

-And finally, if there was anything that you wanted people to know or take away from your company, what would it be?

We are a fun company and want to pass that along to our customers. It’s exciting getting that treat box delivered each month and its fun to open it up and reward your pup. We also want to show brighter representation of shelter dogs. Dogs love treats and we hope that our treats will bring out the happiest side of your dog and dogs in shelters!

Thanks again so much to BePawsitive for letting me interview them! If you want to order some yummy BePawsitive treats for your dog and help dogs in shelter, you can order yours today here ( as always it’s not an affiliate link, I swear.). Also make sure to follow BePawsitive on Twitter, Facebook , and check out their Triberr page so you can stay up to date with what they are up to!

Friday’s Letters!

Omg, how long has it been since we have done a Friday Letters? It feels like forever, and I totally apologize for that, but Friday’s Letters are back for good again, and we are done with web design and all that technical stuff. So like I said before, posts are back to normal and there will not be anymore downtime on this blog!

Dear MotherNature, I don’t know what is going on with you, but this year you just can not get your act together. It’s nice one day, beyond hot one day, rainy one day, and then foggy the next day. It’s just a mess. Please try and just act like nice summer weather so I can go on my fun walks and play outside.

Dear Neighborhood HOA, There is a serious ant problem in our neighborhood. Everyone has them in their yards and it’s just like ants everywhere. Like the ants have literally taken over the yards in our neighborhood, it’s horrid. If you can get mad at my mommy for her parking, you should fix the ant problem. It’s annoying and ruins my walks, because mommy won’t let me get near them

Dear Target, I’m not complaining, but are you becoming a dog boutique with your dog products now? I mean, have you all noticed this as well? When we went to the store this week we saw that Target had a lot of brands that are typically found in dog boutiques.  If you are going to go this route though, maybe you can get rid of some of those not so good treats for dogs.

Dear Shaytards, I have been watching the Shaytards with mommy recently, and it is like the most adorable thing ever. Plus they have a dog Zeek, who I bark at every single time I hear him bark through the computer.

Dear FunnyFur,  I know a package from you all is coming to my house on Monday and I can’t wait. Honestly, you guys have the best stuff and I literally can smell the box from you all every time and know it is full of goodies for me.

Dear Jacqui aka our web designer, Thank you so much for moving our website over and making it look all nice. You did an ah-mazing job on transferring everything over for us and making sure that everything is working right. So thank you for that, because if you didn’t then our Friday’s Letters may not even be able to happen this week!

Thanks so much for reading and we hope that you have a wonderful weekend!
