There are so many amazing things that are available for dog owners today. Like the FitBark, doggie mansions, self-feeders, and one of my new favorites, Rover.com.
If you are like me, then you do not trust dog kennels. They seriously seem so scary to me and I swore that I would never let Ralph even come near to one. One of the problems that arises with that though is if I need to go somewhere sans Ralph, I find myself in a sticky situation. (Thank goodness my mom loves Ralph as much as I do, haha )
But for people who don’t have a mom like me or are tired of calling their rolodex of friends and family members to see who can watch their furry companion when they have to go away, this is where Rover.com comes in.
Rover.com is an online community that was created for dog owners to find dog sitters to watch your dog in-home. The sitters are vetted by the Rover.com team, who are very selective of who they pick, so your furbaby is left in good hands while you are gone. All transactions are done on the Rover.com website as well, so it’s super easy and safe. Not to mention they have almost 200,000 users now – with over 25,000 active sitters nationwide!
They also have this super cool app, so whenever you are away your sitter can take pictures and put this adorable little music video together so you can see all the fun your dog had while you were gone.
They have seriously thought of everything to make sure your pet is having a blast and being loved even when you are away from home, it’s awesome.
I was actually able to talk to Aaron Easterly the CEO of Rover.com recently about what it is that Rover.com is doing, what they plan to do, and we talked about his adorable Pomeranian Carmel, who gets to go to work with him almost every day.
Aaron told me that the idea of Rover.com came about when the founder Greg Gottesman had a bad experience at a “doggie resort”. His dog Ruby came home sick and he overall felt nickeled and dime by them and through all that, the idea of Rover.com was born.
Aaron actually told me that almost 90% of dog owners don’t use dog kennels or resorts either, so I’m glad to know I’m not the only pet owner who doesn’t. He also told me that Petco recently made an investment in Rover.com, so it’s pretty safe to say they are only going to get better.
Aaron also told me about some of the things that Rover.com is doing/wanting to do to expand. Like offering more services like grooming and even making it possible for cats to get the same services of dogs. Going international and much, much more. Ralph and I can’t wait to see Rover.com continue to grow.
Thank you so much to Aaron and the rest of the Rover.com staff for being so nice and helpful to Ralph and I. They are seriously some of the coolest people ever. So cool, they are even sponsoring a giveaway for you guys where you can win a $25 giftcard to Rover.com to try for yourself and a bunch of other fun goodies for your dog!
All you have to do is enter through the Raffle copter below and 2 winners will be selected!
